I think the Junior Boys have to be the favourite to win, but the Besnard Lakes really are the dark horse.

what a weird result hey? I'll admit I was absolutely floored by his junofest performance, but as far as records go, patrick watson's was a bit of a let down, I of course was rooting for julie, but assumed it would go the besnards or miracle fortress...ah well, it's all foolish fun trying to rank bands anyway.

Yeah, I have similar feelings. I'm left thinking that I must have missed something with the Patrick Watson record.

Then again, Final Fantasy's live show also surpasses his recordings, even He Poos Clouds, I think.

I dunno, I think it's interesting to think about what went on in the final jury of 11 discussion. Like, is Patrick Watson just everybody's third choice, when they couldn't agree on a first or second choice?

hmmm...i think i lose a lot of indie points for not knowing most of the other records, but i quite enjoy the PW cd. i suppose one bonus of the prize is that i expect to give a listen to several of these other albums now, that i otherwise might now have known much about.
